In this respect, i think for the benefit of all who take initerest in LXG Exclusive and those who want to actually find out what all this 'LXG stuff' is, it's best i mention how we formed and how we came to share the spirit that we stand with today. LXG Exclusive is the business aspect of what originally started off as an idea of a gentleman's club, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which would bring all our close male friends together to belong to something identifiable and exclusive to the circle that we had all created since the day we arrived at Rhodes University.
The idea originally came from one of Vee's motivated/excited/crazy moments when all the guys were sitting in his room on a Friday night. He came up with the idea and all the guys thought it was Vee at his crazy best again and decided not to take him seriously and everyone had a laugh about it .. well i guess some of that reaction was a result of the 'excessive consumption' we were having at the time, but nonetheless, it made a good laugh at the time and we continued messing around. Just before the night ended Pee, Lelo, Yoshi and myself remained in Vee's room and talked more with him about what he planned. It sounded good, but nothing real came from it at the time, we got over talking about it and followed the rest of the guys to the club. But before we left, there was one thing the 5 of us were quite sure of .... it was a ''flippin good idea'' to put it literally ...
Nothing came of this until early September when i decided to have a 'Warden's Warming' at my Cory Flat. I planned this house warming and i wanted it to be in the form of a digs formal, get all my close friends to dress up in good formal clothes and come to my flat for me to host them for the warming. Then LXG came to mind and i called Vee to tell him 'LXG, it's on, Sept 4th, my place'. He was excited to hear this fair enough, but he went ballistic when i showed up in his room later that evening with the invitations i wanted him to hand out to control the guest list and have something small and exclusive ... LXG Exclusive, Warden's Warming, Zenzo's Cory Flat, Sept 4th .. He just couldn't believe it and from that day, he's been singing LXG Exclusive coz his idea had finally come to life and he had all his friend's close as partners to make sure LXG became a brand ... From there we had the best party we ever had on the 4th of September ... or so we thought ...
On the night of that party, Pee came to me and literally said ''Zenzo dog, we've started something here, we can't let it die, it just has to live from here'' ... and i never forgot those words up till today ... those words became my official motivation .. the fact that a concept came to life because i decided to make it real by hosting one simple party ... there was no better feeling and from there, LXG became the new me ... i started imagining and getting excited,feeling each time that we could make anything work if we sat down and made real efforts to see it happen ... my self belief was re-ignited and having Vee, Pee, Yoshi and Lelo surrounding me, i beleived LXG Exclusive could do anything .. anything ...
From there, Pee came up with the LXG Exclusive RedBull party at Theo's
digs.. This just humbled me because in a space of 2 weeks, L.X.G Exclusive was ready to do it again, this time with more excitement and more input from everybody else, planning a RedBull party and putting our name there to maximise on publicity ... The Party was a Jewel ... it was InSaNe CrAzY ... Everyone was dressed well, the set-up was amazing, the music was too too good, everyone was happy and the night became like no other anyone had ever experienced ... it became officially the best party everyone had gone to in 2009 and it was just too too amazing .. The next day, we all sat down and looked at each other with our hands over our mouths in disbelief ... we just couldn't believe what we'd just done ... we had just thrown the best party of the year and Facebook was all LXG Exclusive, LXG party, LXG this, LXG that ... we just couldn't believe that all that hype and excitement and happiness was us ... WE had made it happen ... LXG Exclusive had brought all that to life ... Amazing ...
So from here, we know no fear .. Self belief is the name of the game and we will play like we could ref it .. We will plan whatever event you want, host it and make sure you get the best experience from having LXG Exclusive involved ...
